Dr. Nakayama graduated from Kyushu Dental College in Kitakyushu, Japan in 1975. He then matriculated at Tufts University in the specialty training program in Periodontics Dr. Nakayama is a former clinical instructor at the Boston University School of Dentistry. Dr. Nakayama has lived and practiced in Japan prior to moving to the United States. In 1981 he opened and has been in private practice serving the citizens of Federal Way and greater King county for 26 years.

Dr. Nakayama still travels to Japan twice a year where he is a sought after educator for other dental professionals. Dr. Nakayama lives with his wife Tina and son Andrew in Federal Way, Washington. He maintains active membership in the American Academy of Periodontology, Academy of Osseointegration and Washington State Society of Periodontists.
